RACE 1:
2 PROVOCATIVA will try to stretch her tactical
speed to the wire after dueling for the early lead
and fading late in consecutive races at this level
and distance. Trainer Rohan Crichton has
Emisael Jaramillo rationing her speed vs a field
that’s light in the pace department.
8 HOLIDAY PRINCESS is stretching out to a mile
again looking to stalk the pace and reap the spoils
if the top choice does another swan dive in the
stretch. Trainer Larry Bates has apprentice Jason
Huayas at the controls. 5 WHAT A KNOCKOUT
is hoping to finally punch her ticket into the
winner’s circle after closing to finish second in
front of Provocativa last out. Trainer Dwight
Puckett has Chantal Sutherland returning on the
zero-for-17 maiden.

RACE 2:
4 CAPRIDREY moves to the Renaldo Richards
barn via the claim, and steps up with the blinkers
removed, after uncorking a seven-wide rally to
come within a half-length of defeating $6,250
claimers going seven furlongs. The new
connections tab Inoel Beato to ride the daughter
of Flat Out. 3 QUEEN CAMILLA, claimed by
Saffie Joseph Jr out of a $20,000 claiming victory
in May, makes her first start since failing to fire vs
$35,000 claimers going a mile and 70-yards on the
Tapeta in June. Leonel Reyes rides the only twotime winner in the field. 7 TWIRLING GRACE
moves to the Enrique Amado barn via the claim,
and steps up to face winners, after rocketing clear
to defeat $12,500 maidens at the distance by eight
widening lengths. She gets a class check with
leading jock Miguel Vazquez in the saddle.

RACE 3:
7 PAWKY is a daughter of Twirling Candy
debuting for leading trainer Saffie Joseph Jr with
a series of solid workouts showing at Palm
Meadows. The barn, 17% with first-time starters,
has Edgard Zayas named to ride. 8 ESOTERIC
is a $60,000 daughter of Khozan debuting for
trainer Ron Spatz with a string of consistent
workouts, which includes three bullet drills
showing, in preparation for her first start. The full
sister to Grade 3 winner Background has Chantal
Sutherland handling the outside draw. 1 MO TIME
is a daughter of Mo Town debuting for trainer Ed
Plesa Jr with a slew of morning workouts showing
both locally and at Palm Meadows. Go-to rider
Kevin Krigger handles the always interesting
inside post.
SELECTIONS: 7-8-1

RACE 4:
4 CONCEPTUS is dropping to the $25,000 level,
and turning back to 5 ½ furlongs on the Tapeta,
after prompting the pace and calling it a day when
fading vs maiden special weight runners going six
furlongs on the main track. Trainer Gustavo
Delgado has Sonny Leon handling her third career
start. 3 LADY PETAL is dropping a level after
dueling through the stretch and finishing second
vs $35,000 types going five furlongs on the allweather track. Dan Pita has Leonel Reyes
returning on the daughter of Khozan.
6 CHILD MEMORIES is hoping to save more for
the stretch drive after dueling for the lead and
weakening to finish fourth behind Lady Petal last
out. Antonio Sano has Edgar Prado in the irons.

4 HERCULES moves to the Claudio Gonzalez
barn via the claim after encountering early trouble
when finishing fourth vs $20,000 state-bred
optional claimers going a mile. The barn, 23% with
new claims, has Jose Morelos named to ride. 5 HARD BELLE, a six-time winner, looking for his
first victory of the year, wheels back after getting
forced out at the top of the lane when finishing
third vs $16,000 starter optional claimers last out.

RACE 6:
6 BORIS is stretching out to six furlongs again
after the eventful outing at 5 ½ furlongs in which
he was floated out wide and still managed to finish
second – beaten a length – last out. Trainer
Fernando Abreu has Edgar Perez in the saddle.
1 BIG JOHN is making his first start since taking
the overland route and finishing a disappointing
sixth – as the favorite – behind a pair of next-out
winners in a competitive special weight affair in
June. Trainer Jose D’Angelo, 20% with the 61-180
days layoff, has Emisael Jaramillo handling the
inside post. 5 SHANKAR is a son of Khozan
debuting for Saffie Joseph Jr with Edgard Zayas
named to ride. The tote action should tell us more.

RACE 7:
5 CADET CORPS, who became the only threetime winner in the field when moving to the Rohan
Crichton barn via the claim last out, stretches out
to a mile and a sixteenth after defeating $16,000
starter optional claimers going a mile and 70-
yards on the Tapeta. 4 TAP GOLD, another from
trainer Rohan Crichton, is moving to his barn via
the claim after leading every step of the way to
defeat $20,000 claimers – as the even-money
favorite – going a mile and 70-yards on the allweather surface. Edgar Perez goes for two in a
row. 6 ON THE GO will face winners going around
two turns after drawing clear to win his 5 ½-furlong
debut vs $16,000 maidens. Trainer Ralph Nicks
has Sonny Leon atop the gelding.
SELECTIONS: 5-4-6

RACE 8:
2 POIEMA, who defeated $75,000 optional
claimers by almost nine lengths in her only
previous race at a mile, stretches out after the setthe-pace second at seven furlongs. She’s the
controlling speed, and definitely the one to catch.
7 OUR FANTASY, whose six career victories
were all at this one-mile distance (14-6-3-3),
stretches out after tracking the pace and
weakening to finish fourth behind Poiema last out.
The hard-knocking mare moves to the Claudio
Gonzalez barn after the claim when trying to turn
the tables on the top choice.
4 LET’S BE HONEST, in the for $20,000 tag in
this allowance optional claimer, stretches out to a
mile after failing to fire when going seven furlongs
vs $25,000 optional claimers last out. Trainer
Efren Loza Jr, who claimed her two starts back,
has Leonel Reyes atop this interesting
proposition.

RACE 9:
4 SILVIA V’S HEROS is stretching out to seven
furlongs, with blinkers added, after breaking from
the rail and finishing a promising fourth in her sixfurlong debut. Trainer Steve Dwoskin has Miguel
Vazquez atop the daughter of Mission Impazible.
8 MILES OF SMILES wheels back after losing a
tough one when she fought on bravely and was
beaten a neck – as the favorite – at a mile. Trainer
Joe Orseno adds blinkers, and has Samuel
Camacho Jr handling the turnback to seveneighths of a mile. 6 TOUT ENSEMBLE is turning
back after returning from the extended layoff to
dispute the pace and tire to finish fifth behind Miles
of Smiles last out. The proverbial screws should
be tightened in the second start off the bench for
trainer Lisa Lewis.
