A mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6 is scheduled for Saturday’s Gulfstream Park program, which will include 10 stakes, headlined by the $750,000 Curlin Florida Derby presented by Hill ‘n’ Dale Farm at Xalapa.

Should the popular multi-race wager go unsolved through Friday the pool is expected to swell into the multi-millions.

The Late Pick 5 and the Late Pick 4, both boasting all-stakes sequences, will have guaranteed pools of $750,000 Saturday.

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $1,250,000 Thursday.

The Rainbow 6 went unsolved Wednesday for the 11th racing day in a row since a March 6 mandatory payout. Multiple tickets with all six winners were each worth $6,041.44 Thursday.

The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is usually only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool usually goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. However, on mandatory-payout days, the entire pool is paid out to the bettor or bettors with the most winners in the six-race sequence.

The Jackpot Hi-5 carryover for this Saturday’s mandatory payout is $262,454.05. The Jackpot Hi-5 wager was frozen following last Saturday’s (March 20) card in preparation for this weekend’s mandatory payout.

The Jackpot Hi-5 requires horseplayers to select the top five finishers in order. A horseplayer can only win the entire jackpot if they hold the only winning ticket for that evening’s wager. If there are multiple winning tickets, half the pool is paid out, while the other half is added to the carryover.

This Saturday’s mandatory payout will see the entire carryover, plus new money wagered, paid out to all those that correctly select the top five finishers in order. The Jackpot Hi-5 has a 20-cent minimum and a 15 percent takeout.

The Jackpot Hi-5 mandatory payout race will be the final race on this Saturday’s card. The draw for Saturday’s card takes place Wednesday.

Live racing continues every Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Post time is 7 p.m.
